Anvyl Privacy Policy

Anvyl ("Anvyl," "we," "us," or "our") provides evidence-based strength training and nutrition programming through our mobile application and our website at anvylfit.com (together, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

We built Anvyl to be direct with you about your training. We take the same approach to your data.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we process through the Anvyl mobile application, the anvylfit.com website (including our waitlist), and any related services. It is incorporated into our Terms of Use.

Device permissions

The current version of the Anvyl app does not access your location, contacts, camera, photo library, microphone, or health platforms (such as Apple HealthKit or Health Connect). If a future feature needs a device permission (for example, uploading a profile photo or receiving push notifications), your device will ask for your permission first, and you can decline or change it later in your device settings. We will update this Privacy Policy when such features launch.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the rights, safety, or property of Anvyl, our users, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@anvylfit.com. We will verify your request and respond as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

6. Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and per-user access controls that restrict your data to your account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but protecting your data is a core design requirement of how we build Anvyl.

8. International Users

Anvyl is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, contact us at hello@anvylfit.com and we will delete it.

10. California Residents

This section supplements this Privacy Policy for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (email address, account identifiers, IP address); personal characteristics (age, sex); health and fitness information you provide (body metrics, training data); and internet activity (app usage and interactions). We collect these directly from you and automatically through your use of the Services, for the purposes described in Section 3.

Sale and sharing: We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

Sensitive personal information: We use health and fitness information you provide solely to deliver the Services (generating and adapting your program), not to infer characteristics for advertising.

Your California rights: You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request deletion; to request correction; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise them, email hello@anvylfit.com. You may make a request yourself or through an authorized agent; we will verify your identity before responding, and respond within the timelines required by law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Services or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version.
